What ages do you see?

Therapy is for children ages 4 and up, teens, college students, adults, and older adults. Psychological testing (including ADHD and autism evaluations) and medication management are for ages 6 and up, and medication management is telehealth only.

Do you take insurance?

We are in network with most major commercial plans from any state, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, HAP, McLaren, and others. Some clinicians accept Medicaid. Cash pay is always available.

Do you bill ADHD testing to insurance?

Yes. ADHD and related psychological assessment can be billed to Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network — many testing clinics are cash-only; we are not. Cash pay is also available. We check benefits before testing starts.

How soon can testing start?

Most testing starts within a week. Psychological testing is for ages 6 and up, in person at all four offices or by telehealth. Autism evaluations are with Cimone Safilian, LLP, in Ann Arbor, West Bloomfield, or Macomb (in person).

How long does it take to get the testing report?

Report turnaround varies with each evaluation. Your evaluator will discuss timing with you.

Is medication management in-person or telehealth?

Medication management is telehealth only. Stephen Ereg, FNP-C, provides psychiatric medication management for children as young as six, teens, and adults by secure telehealth for anyone in Michigan.

What happens after I request an appointment on /fit?

We match you with a clinician, check benefits before you start, and your clinician typically reaches out within a business day to schedule the intake.

Where are your offices — and do you offer telehealth?

We have four Michigan offices — Ann Arbor, West Bloomfield, East Lansing, and Macomb Township — plus secure statewide telehealth for anyone in Michigan. Therapy and assessment can be in office or by telehealth; medication management is telehealth only.

What are your hours and phone number?

Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–7 p.m., by appointment. Saturday and Sunday closed. Call 734-215-5853. Fax 855-952-2422.

How soon can I get an appointment?

We often have openings this week — not a university waitlist. Make an appointment on this site, choose “see who can start now,” or call 734-215-5853.

Are you the same as Joy Family Center?

Yes. Joy Mental Health Group is formerly Joy Family Center — the same clinicians and offices, with a name that better fits therapy, assessment, and medication management under one roof.

Is there a psychiatrist or medication provider on staff?

Stephen Ereg, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, not a psychiatrist. He provides psychiatric medication management for children ages 6 and up, teens, and adults — by secure telehealth anywhere in Michigan.

Do you see University of Michigan and Michigan State students?

Yes. The Ann Arbor office is a short drive from the U-M Diag, and the East Lansing office is minutes from MSU. College students can also meet by telehealth anywhere in Michigan.

How do I find a therapist who is a good fit?

Make an appointment at choosejoymi.com/fit. A few questions about who needs care, insurance, location, and what would help — then suggested clinicians with a clear reason for each.

Still deciding?

Tell us who needs care. We match you, check benefits, and your clinician typically reaches out within a business day.
